Can an AI agent receive email?

An AI agent cannot receive email at your own domain yet. Receiving mail at your own domain is not open yet. There is no inbox on a domain you verify here, and no address of yours that collects replies. The agent can send with POST /emails, and it can read what happened to mail it sent.

What you can read today

GET /emails/{id} returns the message you sent. GET /emails/{id}/events returns the delivery, bounce, and complaint events for that message. GET /emails/{id}/explain names the verdict. A bounce or a complaint is about mail the agent already sent. It is not a mailbox.

POST /api-keys still creates the sending key, and PATCH /limits/keys/{id} still sets the ceiling the key cannot raise. None of those calls opens receiving.

What not to build on

Do not point a customer's MX at this service and expect a list of received messages. Do not tell an agent that a reply to its From address will arrive as a tool result. When receiving at your own domain is open, this page will name the call. Until then, the send path is the product.
