Automations

An automation is a trigger and an ordered list of steps. The list shows whether it is on and which trigger it uses. The detail page writes the trigger and each step as a sentence, then lists the saved versions and the runs, including what each step did.

There is no visual editor. Create is a form.

Triggers

A trigger is one of: a contact was created, a contact was updated, a contact joined a segment, a contact left a segment, a schedule in minutes, or a custom event you name.

Steps

A step sends an email from a verified domain, calls a public URL, or splits the run. Steps run in the order you list them.

Turning one on

Enable and disable both ask you to confirm. Turning one on saves a version, so a later edit does not rewrite the run that already happened.
